Martinez-Jimenez

A Lifelong Commitment to

Veterinary Excellence

Dr. David Martinez’s journey in veterinary medicine is marked by a profound dedication to animal welfare and medical excellence. Graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine of Zaragoza, Spain, in 2002, he furthered his education with a master’s degree in wild animal health and an intensive internship in exotic pet, zoo, and wildlife medicine at the University of Georgia (UGA). With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Martinez brings a wealth of knowledge to Hog Mountain Animal Hospital, particularly highlighted by his special interest in exotic animals.
While Dr. Martinez has a broad skill set that covers internal medicine and surgery, ultrasound, endoscopy, and cardiology, it’s his passion for exotic pets that truly sets him apart. This interest complements his extensive experience with traditional pets, ensuring that every animal, no matter how unique, receives the care they truly deserve.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Martinez is deeply involved in the veterinary community as the current president of the Honeybee Veterinary Consortium and a certified beekeeper. His commitment extends to the environment and community through managing apiaries for local raw honey production and safe honeybee control and removal.

Dr. Martinez’s life outside the clinic is filled with outdoor adventures, beekeeping, and quality time with his family and dog, Pippin, reflecting his belief in the importance of balance and the joy animals bring to our lives.

Tiffanie Britt, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

When you grow up spending a lot of time on a farm, you acquire plenty of firsthand experience dealing with animals. Dr. Tiffanie Britt spent several summers working on her grandparent’s farm tending to a variety of farm animals. Although she was young, she had already made up her mind that she wanted to always be around furry, lovable creatures in some capacity. Today, as a veterinarian, Dr. Tiffanie has the opportunity to do precisely that!
Her first experience in the veterinary world came when she worked in the kennel at Lawrenceville Animal Care. This opened her eyes to the reality of the profession, and she found out how much work and time is put into taking care of animals. But she would not be deterred and was determined to pursue a career in the field. She would major in Biology/pre-vet in college, and then go on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at University of Georgia. While studying, she continued to gain experience by working in various animal hospitals.

When it comes to picking favorite aspects of her job, Dr. Tiffanie can’t pick only one. She enjoys the variety of tasks that vacillate between surgery and medicine, and she relishes the opportunity to continuously learn and hone her skills. Ultimately, she finds surgery to be the most humbling yet rewarding area of her profession, simply because of the unique challenges that it comes with.

Dr. Tiffanie is married and has four children, along with two dogs, a rabbit and a cat. You can catch her camped out in front of her TV on weekends, loudly cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs college football team. Her siblings live nearby, so she’s able to spend time with them. And to make life come full circle from her childhood, she has dreams of one day opening her own small farm!
